Since the advent of Tim Berners-Lee's WWW, the world has become a different place. Yet we all routinely lose sight of the daily miracle that is the Internet.
When I teach the Internet Marketing workshop for the local Rochester NY chapter of SCORE, I take a few minutes to review how this modern marvel works. There is no one group or government "in charge" of it, no central funding, and no bureaucracy. Is there any other resource on this planet that can say the same and has the same level of impact?
Now we cannot imagine a world without the Internet. I, for one, will not go into any future nursing home that does not have wireless internet access. By that time, the word "wireless" will probably sound as quaint as "horseless" does today to describe a car. I will probably be the last little old lady to die there, my cold, stiff fingers poised over the quaint QWERTY keyboard (that I dearly hope no brave company organizes alphabetically -- too steep a learning curve now).
The Internet was started by a human who had a thought, an idea. The rest, as they say, is history. The Internet is just one of millions of examples of how human thought has changed us and our planet--sometimes for good, sometimes for bad, and sometimes the jury isbn't in yet.
This blog is dedicated to exploring human thought and how you can harness your own thoughts and those of others for success, whatever that means to you.
I look forward to your comments, feedback, and suggestions.
I would also like to thank my dear friends, Yvonne Divita and Tom Collins of Windsor Media Enterprises, for giving me the kick in the pants to finally get this going.
